BOG Reading Test and BOY Math Test
Students will take their Beginning of Grade Reading Test on Wednesday, September 9th. This is a test from the state. This test score will not be on report cards.
On Thursday, September 10th students will take a Beginning of Year Math Test. This is a test suggested by the county. This test score will not be on report cards. This test is given, so that I may meet the needs of my students in the classroom.
Homework and Tests
Students should study multiplication facts each night. A great website to use is www.multiplication.com! If there is no homework stated in their O.W.L binders, they should study their facts each night. Students will not have quizzes on their facts until after the first nine weeks.
Students will have a reading passage each week. They will take that reading passage home every night and read a portion of the text. On Fridays, they will have a open notes Reading Comprehension Test. I always allow students to use their passage because they will be allowed to use their passages on the EOG (End of Grade Test). We are currently focusing on how to look back in the text to find answers. Please feel free to ask students questions from their passage each night.
