DISTRICT TIDBITS TO KEEP YOU IN THE LOOP
OCTOBER IS NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH! We are so lucky to have such energetic, strong leaders in our district who are on top of things. A big thank you to Lauren Hotz, Deane Bates, Aliza Pluta, Stacey Jenkins and Jesse McMillan!
Upcoming dates to keep in mind for next week:
10/11 No school due to Indigenous People Day (formerly known as Columbus Day)
10/12 No school for students due to district professional development
10/13 WES school committee meeting 4-6*; Norris school committee meeting 6pm
10/14 HRHS school committee meeting 6pm
My apologies that WES's school committee meeting needed to be rescheduled from Tuesday evening to Wednesday 4-6. We recognize the inconvenience of the date and time change but appreciate your cooperation and patience.
Schools will be having lockdown drills on Tuesday. These are routine and a way for students to feel comfortable with our safety procedures and police in the schools. Teachers will review procedures with students ahead of time.
Great Open Houses for WES and NHRES yesterday!
POOLED TESTING UPDATES
Three districts have voted on student safety checks, and two more will vote next week.
ATD: pooled testing
HRHS: symptomatic testing, test and stay, and pooled testing
NHRES: symptomatic testing, and test and stay
What are our next steps? Stephanie Faas, our nurse leader, will be sending out information and permission slips to families. The exact start dates are unknown at this time since tests have to be ordered and logistics planned. Trained personnel from CIC Health must be assigned to us in order to proceed with pooled testing. More info to follow.
