The Hoop Exclusive!
Thursday, September 2nd
Dear Hooper Families,
The first day of school is upon us and we are eagerly anticipating the return of our students. Below you will find some pertinent information for a successful 1st week of school. You will also find The Hooper Avenue Student Handbook button and The TRRS The Road Forward Handbook just below this text. Please bookmark these documents as I am sure you will find the answers to many questions that may arise during the school year.
There will be no daily COVID screening form. You should have completed your one time form when viewing your child's placement.
1st Day- Wednesday, September 8th (8:40-2:50) lunch will be served.
- Please be mindful buses may be running slightly off schedule the first few weeks as our drivers become accustom to their routes. This applies for morning pick up and afternoon drop off.
- If dropping off by car please be patient and understand the morning drop off does not always move as quickly as you'd expect. No students will be permitted to enter the building before 8:25am. For the safety of everyone please do not get out of your vehicle to assist your child. We have staff stationed along the drop off route to assist.
Bus passes are available in the Parent Portal, please make sure to check on this before the end of the day Friday as the Main Office will be closed until Wednesday, September 8th.
All students will be required to wear a face covering upon entering the school or riding the school bus. If the weather is deemed to be excessive by the school district, masks will not need to be worn in unairconditioned settings; however students will be required to wear them when in air conditioned spaces. I will communicate weeks of excessive heat with the community before the before the beginning of the week so you know what to expect. We do have certain air conditioned spaces so please make sure your child brings a face covering even when the weather is excessive. If your child forgets a face covering one will be provided by our nursing staff. Wearing face covering will be optional: when outside, while eating, during mask breaks (indoors), and while exerting any physical effort during indoor activities.
We are looking forward to another amazing year at The Hoop. It has been a unique end to the summer due to all the construction that has been taking place at the building. We are eager for the return of our Huskies to spread a little Husky Pride! Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, September 22nd for Back to School Night.
If you need anything please make sure to reach out to the Main Office (732-505-5850) or your child's teacher for assistance.
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
