For the Week of November 14th

Our theme this year is "Wolfpack Strong." We believe that learning and growing together is the key to our success. Strength lies in the pack, and we will remember this theme throughout the year as we work cooperatively to be successful!

Learning Objectives This Week


Identify and analyze figurative language and imagery in poetry

Please bring ear buds daily for I-Station.


Publish my expository essay.

Tuesday: On-Demand Expository Essay (major)

Students can bring one page of handwritten facts for their on-demand

Friday: Dialogue assignment (minor)


Adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators

Multiplying fractions using models


Identify alternative energy resources-wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal and biofuels

Social Studies

Identify key points of the American Revolution (treaties, weaknesses, strengths)

Friday: American Revolution Assessment (major)


Homework is on Canvas. It is due on Friday, November 18th.

Homework is a completion grade the first semester.

Reading- See Canvas. It is under quizzes.

Math- Adding/Subtracting Fractions and Mixed Numbers - on paper (not on Canvas).

Science-See Canvas. It is under quizzes.

2016-2017 TWE Yearbooks on Sale

Get your yearbook for this year by visiting http://www.jostens.com/yearbooks/high-school-yearbooks.html. Type in Tom Wilson Elementary.

Don't miss out on also ordering the 5th Grade Extended Edition. This will be an extra insert to go into the yearbook that will have only 5th grade events that happen after the yearbook deadline. It will be an 8-12 page supplement. It will be mailed out after school is over. You will be able to attach the supplement into the yearbook.

Lost and Found

If your child has lost something, please have them check the lost and found. Please make sure your child's name is on lunchboxes, water bottles, backpacks and jackets.
