Wimmer's Weekly
English IV, Writing Skills/Technical Writing, & Yearbook
Week 10 (November 6-10)
So many good things are happening in Room 115 this week! In English IV, we are beginning to discuss the Renaissance period of British Literature, which includes Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Writing Skills/Technical Writing will be working on test taking strategies for the reading portion of the STAAR EOC exam, specifically non-fiction.
We have our first big plant deadline in Yearbook this week. On Friday, we will be submitting 36 pages to Balfour, our yearbook company. So far, they are looking beautiful!
English IV
This week we are really focusing on note-taking as a skill needed for post-secondary life. Monday and Tuesday, the students are working independently to read a section of the textbook, while deciphering the important material and writing effective notes. This is an important skill for any student, but it is definitely important for these seniors.
Wednesday and Thursday we will begin learning about William Shakespeare; his life, his vision, and what it means for us today.
