The Groves Grapevine
Building the future, one student at a time! 12/10/21
Our Groves families help our Gators THRIVE in number fluency!
When students are able to easily identify how numbers can work together, they become stronger in their number fluency. By gaining strengths in number fluency, the relationships of the numbers make sense.
Number sense is about developing skills in exploring numbers, visualizing them in a variety of contexts, and the relationships between them.
We work with our kids on being able to identify a total, know all the parts that make a whole, and understanding when you have more or less of a quantity.
By talking with your child about these concepts, you are equipping them for successful experiences in number fluency at school!
Here are some simple examples to engage your child in math:
1. Bake something together
2. Measure, count, and record
3. Build something together
4. Mix math into bedtime reading
You are building the future, one student at a time!

Counselor's Corner
This week we celebrated relationships on Wednesday for Relationship Day. I did classroom guidance throughout the week with 3rd and 4th graders talking about healthy vs. unhealthy relationships. Students learned not only what healthy relationships included, but they also learned what to do if they become involved in an unhealthy relationship.

- This letter does not mean your child has to quarantine. It is simply notifying you of the case.
- There are no whole-school notifications this year for a positive case. They are only going to the exact class in which there was a positive test result.
- COVID daily total case reports by campus can be found at Wylie ISD/Health Services/COVID cases or https://www.wylieisd.net/Page/16303
