The Washingtonian
Parent & Student Newsletter
Dear Washingtonians,
Thank you all so much for a great return to school! Students are learning our rich school history each morning with their assigned teachers, and attending Warrior Games in the afternoons. Warrior Games is a fun way to recruit students for athletics. Monday, our volleyball team played the teachers, Tuesday, our football team played the teachers, yesterday, the basketball team played the teachers, and today our track team will play the teachers in a game of kickball! It's been a great time! Tomorrow, is our school pep rally in preparation for our Football Jamboree August 13 @ Crump Stadium. BTW plays at 7:21pm!
Your child will receive another copy of his/her class schedule tomorrow, and will begin following that class schedule Monday, August 16. BTW will follow a block schedule. What that means is on Monday's & Wednesday's (Green Days) students will attend their odd classes, and on Tuesday's & Thursday's (Gold Days), students will attend their even classes. Each Friday, students will attend all eight classes.
As of yesterday, Wednesday, August 11, we are still missing quite a few students. It is extremely important for you to send your scholar to school ASAP. When students are registered, but do not attend, we withdraw that student from our rosters and they are no longer enrolled. This will then become a truancy issue. Parents, PLEASE go ahead and send your scholars to school with a mask, and their fully charged tablet (middle school) or laptop (high school), and abiding by the school dress code (see details below).
Please be reminded that the door open at 7:50a and your scholar is late at 8:20a.
All students entering the 7th grade must have Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis booster ("Tdap"): proof of one dose any time before 7th grade entry required (2013).
If you still need to register your scholar, visit https://www.scsk12.org/registration
to complete the registration process in PowerSchool.
Stay safe and we love you guys!

Student Devices
If your child has a lost/stolen/damaged device:
The Device Management Team will be visiting all SCS schools in the next 90 days to check and issue devices. Therefore, no one is receiving a new device at this time. Also, we are not taking up damaged devices. Students with damaged devices should leave those devices at home until our Check and Release dates. We will communicate those dates to both you and your scholar.
We are not taking ANY devices unless the student is leaving SCS.
