Wake Early College of Health and Sciences
This school provides opportunities to explore careers in the health and sciences through partnerships with Wake Tech and WakeMed Health and Hospital. This five-year high school program allows students to earn their high school diploma and an Associate degree, college transfer credit, prerequisite courses to prepare for health sciences degree, or certificate-tuition free. Students follow a rigorous high school program of honors classes for the first 2 years and are dual enrolled in Wake Tech courses the remaining years.

This school attracts students showing interests in content areas of science, technology, engineering, or math and who have a desire to attend college. This five-year program offers the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and up to two years of college credit.

This school is a collaborative endeavor with Wake Technical Community College and Wake County Government. Students will be able to complete studies in one of 7 programs as part of their graduation credits. The programs include Biopharmaceutical Technology, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Multi-Trades Technology (Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration, Electrical Systems, Plumbing, and Welding, OSHA certification), Nurse Aide, Simulation & Game Development and Welding. Through an academic foundation paired with career-informed courses and work-based learning experiences, graduates may continue to a 4-year university, or apply their earned credits towards an AAS degree, certificate or diploma program at Wake Technical Community College.

At WYMLA, Young Men are provided opportunities to make knowledgeable career choices through academic rigor and work-based learning experiences. Collaboration and partnership through their Business Alliance, Youth Chamber of Commerce, and community enhance young men’s career readiness experiences. Career assessments, career events, guest speakers, resume writing, practice interviews, networking workshops, job shadowing, and volunteer opportunities are integral aspects of students’ educational experience. Juniors and Seniors have an opportunity to earn early college credit through St. Augustine’s University and may transfer these credits to a college or university of their choice to complete their Bachelor’s degree.

Athens Drive Magnet High School Center for Medical Sciences & Global Health Initiatives
Students interested in a career in health and/or science professions will be interested in this magnet theme. Areas of concentration range form agricultural sciences, animal science, global health initiatives, and much more. Students in this program become leaders in medical and health science fields. Experiences include STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning across disciplines, relevant connections between the core curriculum and current topics in medical sciences and global health, community partnerships that offer hands-on learning opportunities and collaboration with extensive university and corporate partnerships for real world connections.

Broughton Magnet High School Global Studies and IB Diploma Programme
With the Global Studies theme, all students take part in international and global education designed to help them understand the world and develop skills and dispositions that will lead us all to a better future. The IB Diploma Program emphasizes ideals of international understanding, responsible citizenship and service. Students who choose to participate in the Diploma Programme can potentially earn an International Baccalaureate Diploma that is recognized by major universities worldwide.

The Gifted and Talented theme believes that every student has gifts and talents that are valued and nurtured through this model. Students in GT schools explore an extensive menu of electives designed to develop their strengths and interests. SRMHS' new theme offers four college and career pathways: 1) Design, 2) Arts, 3) Engineering, Math and Sciences, and 4) Humanities and Social Sciences. University Connections provides strong and visible partnerships with local colleges and universities as well as businesses to provide invaluable resources. Students have opportunities to take specialized courses, interact with experts in these fields, and participate in on-site visits.
