Cleaning and Disinfecting Procedures in Buildings
We know there have been various questions about cleaning and sanitization procedures in the buildings. Here is a brief summary as to what chemicals we are using and the process we are following to keep our buildings and clean and as safe as possible.
BackPack Sprayers
Jon Dathe and our custodial team have often been seen wearing a backpack to sanitize our workspaces. These are actually called electrostatic sprayers. Here is the exact website if you want more information other than what is listed below: https://victorycomplete.com/. Basically it does the following:
It provides a thin, even spray pattern on all surfaces
The HDPE tank holds 2.25 gallons of disinfecting solution, which can coat up to 23,000 sq. ft. per tank.
Overall, it allows our custodians to disinfect in a more efficient way by covering more square footage at once.
Disinfecting Products
The chemicals we use in the backpack sprayers are:
Bioesque-Botanical Disinfectant Solution(It is on the EPA list N approved, #87742-1) https://bioesquesolutions.com/botanical-disinfectant-solution/
Chemsan-(EPA list N approved, #10324-81)
The other chemicals that we use for disinfecting and sanitizing daily are:
Diversey Oxivir tb-(EPA List N approved #70627-56)
Diversey Morning Mist(EPA List N approved #1839-169)
Zep Spirit 2(EPA List N approved #1839-83)
Cleaning Processes
The buildings are cleaned and disinfected in the morning and evenings, and throughout the day as needed.
Signs Around WHS
FYI - Signs in Buildings
You will notice that several signs have been placed or will soon be placed around our buildings. This is a requirement that we follow as a school district per ISBE guidance. The signs were just received, which is why they are going up now.

What was your most embarrassing moment that you are willing to share (either personally or professionally)?
In college when we were in the cafeteria getting our food, we set our trays down to go and get our drinks. After getting my drink and while waiting for my friend to finish in line, I started to munch on the food on my tray until the super sized linebacker from the football team walked up to his tray, the one I was munching from. Oops!

Remote Learning Guidelines: Joint Communication from Administration & LEA
You may recall receiving a similar communication last year. The administration worked jointly with LEA Leadership on refreshing this document to reflect new guidance. Please review when you have a moment, as it contains a great deal of information to help you be successful during this time of remote learning.
Communication Reminders
As shared with you this week, we are making changes to our communication practices. You can refer back to this video if you need a refresher.
That being said, if you are a staff member who is active on Twitter or Facebook FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES, and you want to continue using your account, you will need to contact Jenn Nimke (jnimke@sd44.org) to complete a training. Only staff members who complete the training can continue using social media FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES. If you no longer wish to continue for professional purposes, you may delete your account.
If you are interested in some supportive recommendations as it relates to your PERSONAL social media use, you may click here for our administrative procedures, which, on pages 7-8, includes some helpful suggestions. You can also always reach out to Jenn Nimke, as she is happy to support you.
