Career Ready FISD: Education and Training

The Education and Training pathway focuses on planning, managing, and providing education and training services and related support services. Students that choose to focus on this pathway learn about fostering relationships with students, creating valuable lessons and feedback for the classroom, and how to support others. During the practicum experience, students are able to go out into the field and intern with teachers to learn what it takes to be a teacher. Forney ISD hopes to be able to provide dual credit opportunities within this pathway in the near future so that students can work towards their Associates or Bachelors degree in education!

Students that choose to make Education and Training their focus have the following opportunities and future careers available to them:

  • Educational Aide: Students that turn 18 before graduating will be able to earn their Educational Aide certificate!
  • Teacher (Early Childhood-Secondary)
  • College Professor
  • Administrator
  • School Counselor

Scholarships for Students: JLV Scholarships

JLV Scholarships is a FREE website that does not require for you to enter your personal information to search for scholarships. This website is run by a previous college admissions counselor and is updated frequently with new, current scholarships.

These scholarships are organized by deadline and topic, so you can search for scholarships that pertain to you (i.e. by grade level, demographic, interests, organizations). All of these scholarships are kept up to date so you no longer have the realization of "Oh this scholarship doesn't even exist anymore..." when clicking on a link. Every Saturday, the author releases a "Scholarship Saturday" where she lists out every scholarship that will be closing that week. There are over 100+ scholarships listed for every month of the year... so get to clicking!
