What I'm Reading.... (The β’5)
Last week, I highlighted the critical need of feedback! In classrooms, I saw teachers giving intentional, purposeful feedback! (Great job, Ms. Carver)
I am continuing to think and reflect about how we are using and giving feedback to our scholars. Feedback truly can be a difference maker. Think about this statement from Hattie:
"The usefulness of feedback is in the eye of the beholder (Learner). Therefore, the feedback we provide should address the three major questions learners have:
1. Where am I going?
2. How am I going there?
3. Where will I go next?
Feedback from knowing WHAT success looks like allows students to strive along with the teacher to these goals!"
Developing Assessment-Capable Visible Learners by Nancy Frey, John Hattie, and Douglas Fisher

PBIS Update:Data and Discipline
Hallways:
On Tuesday, between 2:15- 2:10, we had 76 sixth graders out of class to use the restroom. That is NOT counting two sixth grade classes that went as a class for bathroom breaks.
Does 75% of the sixth grade need to use the bathroom at that time?
There are four functions of behavior:
1. Sensory
2. Attention
3. Taniglbe
4. Escape!
Take stock at your own classroom learning space: why are so many students asking to use the restroom?
Check out this link to see if there some ideas in there:
