This Week in LVUSD
Week of January 28, 2019
Reminder: No School on Monday January 28th
On Monday January 28th, LVUSD schools will be closed as our staff participates in a Staff Development Day at their school sites and our District office. Teachers and staff will be engaged in collaborative learning around items including school safety, student wellness, our new English Language Arts adoption, as well as implementing instructional practices that best meet the needs of all students. LVUSD remains a top performing district by supporting all teachers with five days of professional development annually.
We wish you a restful and relaxing weekend and look forward to welcoming students back to LVUSD schools on Tuesday, January 29th.
LVUSD Launches Breathe Clean Week on January 29th
Through a $1,000,000 Proposition 56 Grant received by LVUSD, our Deans of Student Safety and Wellness have been working with the community to promote a healthier lifestyle for students everyday. Our Breathe Clean Campaign was designed by students to spread awareness about the dangers of e-cigarettes, vaping and tobacco products.
Through our campaign, we want each and every student to feel empowered to make good choices about vaping and e-cigarette usage. Posters, pledges, and more will come to our secondary school campuses this week. For more information, visit community360.me.
