Second Step at GMS

Gregory is starting a new program in your child's advisory time. Second Step is an online, research-based program geared to building social skills and self-esteem in our middle school students. It is interactive, engaging and addresses the concerns of middle school children. It has a focus on goal setting, building positive relationships and managing the emotions of middle school.

Help for Houston

Gregory Middle School, led by our Student Council, is taking the opportunity to “Get in the Game” by partnering with other 204 Middle Schools, the City of Aurora, the City of Houston, and to collect school supplies to assist the children of Houston. Many people forget that school is starting for all students in the City of Houston on September 11th. One of the biggest struggles from Hurricane Harvey is that students will not have the necessary school supplies. To help the students with their return to school we are collecting various school supplies (SUPPLY LIST) to assist students and teachers as they bring some normalcy to their lives. This is a great opportunity to show some PIONEER PRIDE and help others.

Please do your part to “Get in the Game” by dropping off items during school hours inside the main entrance (Door 1) near the Greeter Desk. The collection runs from September 11th through the 22nd. For more information or for other ways to assist, please see the Houston Independent School District website:

A special thank you goes out to for their facilitation with the City of Aurora and Indian Prairie School District. We are proud to say that was started by four Indian Prairie students to facilitate the collection of school supplies at the end of the school year in order to repurpose the supplies.

Thank You for Your Support in this endeavor of giving…And as Always, GO PIONEERS!

Patriot's Pen Essay Contest

The veterans of Post 3873 would like to invite students to participate in this year’s contest. The theme for this year is “America's Gift to My Generation.” HERE is the 2017-2018 Patriot’s Pen Brochure which must accompany all entries. Also HERE is a document providing essay parameters and submission tips. The deadline for submissions is October 27th, 2017. The VFW Post will select first through fifth place and award monetary prizes for each. Last year, the Naperville winner was awarded $500 for his first place essay. Nearly $1000 total was handed out in monetary prizes. They also handed out “Distinguished Writer” certificates to students at almost every school that participated. Most importantly, it means a lot to the local veterans. Last year they had over 500 essays submitted and every essay was read in its entirety. Many of them were read several times, by several members.

Any entries can be turned into Ms. Wikoff in the main office.
