Bipolar definition

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual changes in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. An episode can last up to a few days, weeks, or months.

Bipolar causes and symptoms

The Bipolar disorder is a health issue that throws around your feelings and then steps on them. It is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and can be transmitted through mother to child during birth. In fact it can only be genetically transmitted.

symptoms include intense euphoria, irritability, excessive talking, egoistical feelings, little need for sleep, promiscuity, and desire to sleep. In a depressive state, symptoms include overwhelming sadness, fatigue, change in appetite, and pessimism.

Robin Williams suffered from Manic Depression. Manic Depression is incurable. However, there are ways that you can manage your mood.(mood-stabilizing drugs mostly consist of Lithium and depakote)Bipolar disorder affects approximately 5.7 million adult Americans, or about 2.6% of the U.S. population age 18 and older every year. Though we know Bipolar is a Disorder in the brain, we still have no way to technically diagnose it. We can only tell by the symptoms.
