We Love to Code Week
February 1- 5 was We Love to Code week in the entire Francis Howell School District. At Bryan Middle, we went 'all in' - bringing TIL classes to the LC to try their hand at basic coding, using BitsBox challenges to build apps. and hosting a guest speaker (a student's dad!). Our kids show a natural ability for all things tech related which means they will be college and career ready when they launch from FHSD!
Read Across America
Bryan Middle had our annual Read Across America celebrations. We had daily Seuss trivia, our "Guess the number of red fish" contest, Truman voting and Seuss bookmarks for all! Proof positive that Dr. Seuss isn't just for the little kids1
What I am reading
So this book has something for everyone: mystery, friendship, and humor. What's not to love?
From the publisher: " Years after writing stories about a superheroine character she created with a best friend who died in a tragic car accident, 16-year-old May is shocked to see stickers, patches and graffiti images of the super heroine appearing all over town". I HAVE to see how this ends!

The Truman Trivia trophy is back at Bryan!!!!
The annual Truman Trivia began from an idea I had years ago for a friendly competition between the 5 FHSD middle schools. It was also a way to encourage our kids to read the state-recommended books. For the first 4 years, Bryan Middle won the trophy. And then we didn't...But this year we did! The trophy is home and our team was phenomenal!
