Spirit of Giving
Starting with the Thanksgiving Holiday, Marine City Middle School has jumped into the spirit of giving in many different ways. Each year it is important for our staff and students to not only create the safest and warmest of learning environments, but also to promote the ideals of giving back to the wonderful community that we live in.
This year, students and staff have helped to get everyone into the holiday spirit by displaying in the building festive lights and decorations. Students have come up with creative assembly games (blind taste-testing of baby food Thanksgiving delights), developed fun spirit weeks, and have raised money through the sale of candy canes, all to help ring in the holidays.
Of special note are the candy cane sales. As of the writing of this post, Marine City Middle School MJHS has raised over $900 through the sale of candy canes that were donated by members and local families. The money raised this year will be used in two ways; for the Old Newsboys and in the sponsorship of six local families for Christmas. Students in MJHS will soon be embarking on a holiday shopping spree to help spread the joy of giving during this winter season.

A School Lunch Menu Where Students Have A Vote:
East China Launches New Student Choice Program
Students encouraged to ‘voice their choice’ by tasting new recipes and voting on favorite foods to eat in the cafeteria
Students at St Clair High School now have the opportunity to make the lunch menu their own with the new “Student Choice” program. This initiative is just one way St Clair High School and its foodservice partner Chartwells K12 are re-imagining the school dining experience.
Using new technology, Student Choice gives high-school students the opportunity to taste and vote on a variety of new restaurant-inspired stations. St Clair High School is one of 150 schools across the country introducing Chartwells K12’s Student Choice program.
