Principal's Post...
Hello Patriots!
Tomorrow is the day! Tomorrow morning, students will be coming back to class for the first time in almost six months. I am excited and anxious at the same time. While there is much that is outside of our control, what we CAN control is our effort and attitude and how hard we safely work to make this a life-changing environment for as many students as we can. I am proud and confident that we will do our best to show up and give our best effort with the tools we have been given.
I often see the doors to schools as magical and I hope students do, too! School is a special place and it's a place where miracles can and do happen! When students enter our building, I hope that as they walk through the doors, that they have a feeling of release and trust. I hope that they can magically forget and leave behind any struggles or stress that they may have outside our doors and that when they enter, they are immediately enveloped by a sense of hope, trust, love and community! I hope our kids believe that when they enter our doors, they are entering an arena where they know that their biggest supporters and fans are there to greet them and cheer them on. And I hope they know that they can trust and rely on us and know we are here to support them and love them well!
I know it's been a while since we have experienced school as normal. For me, even though I have done this for many years, I am a little anxious. My hunch is that returning to school for us will be similar to riding a bicycle. We might expect a wobbly bicycle start if we were to go 5-6 months without truly riding a bike, but in no time, we would be jumping curbs and riding wheelies. I imagine we might scrape a knee or two along the way, but we would get back up in the saddle again. I am not trying to oversimplify matters. I know this is hard and I know for many of us it is scary. What I also know is that my faith and confidence in all of you far exceeds any doubts and fears you have in yourselves or the environment. I know this Patriot Family is going to keep rolling strong! I hope you have the best "kinda" back-to-school week you have ever had!
Patriot Proud,
Holly

Once a new library assistant is hired the library will be available for checkouts throughout the entire school day 7:25-3:15.
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions regarding library procedures.
Supporting Mask Wearing
Per the JCS Re-Entry Plan, all students are required to appropriately wear face masks while indoors (exceptions could apply in courses such as wellness, band, cafeteria).
**TEACHERS ON DUTY IN THE AM...PLEASE HAVE A GOOD HANDFUL OF MASKS WITH YOU AS YOU ARE ON MORNING DUTY, MANY STUDENTS MAY NEED TO BE GIVEN AS MASK AS WE HAVE COMMUNICATED THAT MASKS WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL.
In the event a student is not wearing a mask:
Teachers/staff members should offer a face covering to students who do not have one.
If the student will not comply with wearing a mask when offered, please contact a school administrator and send to the office per school procedures.
Administrator will discuss with the student the importance of mask wearing and why the individual student is not wearing a mask or not willing to accept a mask to be worn.
If the student accepts and wears the mask, the student will return to class. If the student continues to refuse to wear a mask, please request a guardian pick them up from school.
We will inform the guardian and the student that face coverings are mandated and if not worn, students must remain at home.
Students who have ongoing issues with mask wearing may be transitioned to Remote Choice Learning.

Information Regarding Cleaning Materials for Classrooms
1. The cleaning material provided by Maintenance for all teachers to have in their classrooms (Sani-Tyze) is meant to support teachers in basic sanitization. It is food based and is not covered by our environmental control plan. It also is more safe to be used in the presence of students.
2. Your custodial staff will provide a deeper cleaning with a disinfectant when they clean your rooms. This will be a bleach based or similar cleaner.
