Week 1 - Term 2 2022
Kia ora e te whānau,
It was wonderful to see all the children back at school on Monday and we have enjoyed having the opportunity to get together as a syndicate again for morning hui.
We have started cross-country training. Our school cross country will be held on Tuesday of Week 2. We will let you know times. The year 2 and 3 children run slightly different courses. The teachers will take them through it a few times so they feel more confident about the run.
Next week is New Zealand Sign Language week. We are fortunate at Paparangi to have children, parents and teachers who have the ability to communicate using sign language. Pounamu children are taught basic sign language and enjoy communicating this way. We learn to sign when we are singing songs and waiata and it has enriched our learning experiences.
During Week 3 we are hoping to have parent conferences where you can come and talk to your child's home teacher. We will update you soon with details about this.
Week 3 is Friendship week with Pink Shirt day on Friday the 20th. Pink shirt day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. Wear something bright and colourful to school and bring a donation that goes to the Mental Health foundation.
Covid - Orange level expectations
We are able to have syndicate assemblies inside.
Parents are allowed onto the grounds but are asked to wear masks if they are coming into a classroom.
This week is week 1 so Rooms 3 & 5 will be going.
