Record Questions
Jot your questions in the margin.
Students are expected to use all four annotations on each reading passage. Your child should continue to read self selected material for 30 minutes everyday.
Decimals, Fractions, and Percents
Students have 7 days to complete this. Please make sure they return it. I will give daily reminders about the homework.
For extra work or to help your student, quiz them on their times tables when driving to school or during commercial breaks, add in some division, addition and subtraction to help with their mental math!
Any questions or concerns can be e-mailed to me.
Force and Motion Unit
We will be creating a science journal that will be used to take notes, track data and serve as astudy guide or 'living text book'. This notebook will be interactive and student-created. Part of your homework will have to do with the creation of this future learning tool.
We will begin wrapping up our unit on 'Force and Motion'. You have been exploring the properties of force and motion by building cars and collecting data on their performance. The following vocabulary words will be frequently used during this unit.
Gravity, Force, Motion, Speed, Velocity, AccelerationOn Friday, you will be given a 'Science Pack' to be turned in the following Friday. Please use your skills from reading and 'code the text' as needed to aid in complete understanding.
Washington DC Field Trip
Thank you so much for submitting your child’s Washington D.C. payments. At this time another payment of $80 (this should be your child’s third payment, so a total of $240.00) is due by Friday, February 27th. We are also still looking for chaperones to attend the trip as well as any student who has not yet paid, but is interested in going, it is not too late to submit your payment(s). The more people we have (students and adults) the lower the final payment will be for everyone. On Monday, March 2nd, I will send home a letter with the amount of the FINAL payment due. This final payment will be due on Tuesday, March 10th.
Thank you so much for all of your patience and support through this process.

Growth and Development Class
Your child will soon enter a very important stage of development called puberty. Changes will be occurring to their body, both on the outside and on the inside. We think it is important for your son to have information about the normal changes of growth and development. Therefore, we request permission for your child to attend a class to learn about puberty. Please sign and return the permission slip before March 13th.
