Stone Bank School
Reaching Out ~ November 25, 2020
Family Teaching and Learning
Dear Families,
We are excited to announce a new Family Teaching and Learning Series at Stone Bank School! This new series provides a time twice each month for families to engage with Stone Bank staff in topics around teaching and learning.
Each session will consist of a brief overview of the scheduled topic from a guest speaker on our staff, time for Q&A, and time at the end for ways in which families can continue, extend, and support learning beyond the classroom.
When: First and Third Wednesday of each month
Where: 12:00-12:30 pm Google Meet Link
6:30-7:00 pm Google Meet Link
Schedule of Events: Family Teaching and Learning Series. Please note that some dates are
left intentionally blank to allow for responsive topics of family and
community choice.
If there are topics you would like to see on our Family Teaching and Learning Series, please email Beth Wartzenluft at b.wartzenluft@stonebank.k12.wi.us.
We look forward to sharing, learning, and partnering with you now, and in the future!
SBS Online Holiday Book Fair & Coin Challenge
Nov 23rd - Dec 7th buy some books and support the PTO! Make your own wishlists. Teachers will also have the option to create wish lists, so if you would like to purchase something for your child's classroom for the holidays, take a peek and see what they might want. You will have the choice to pick your books up at school, at the bookstore or pay to have them shipped!
Get your account set up and create those wishlists this weekend. Then, beginning November 23rd, add your titles to your cart.
Be Sure To Use Our Code SBS20 in the order comments box Online, and also In-Store beginning on Monday
You can also shop in person. Just tell the cashier that it is for the SBS book fair (no discounts apply to book fair purchases).
Don't need any books right now (really?) but want to support the fundraiser? You can make a donation to SBS that will be used to purchase books for the classrooms.Even though we will not be doing the Scholastic coin challenge for books this year, we thought we would keep this fun event alive to raise a little extra money and have some fun too! This year, each classroom teacher will be collecting coins in a jar in their respective classroom the week of November 30th- December 4th. For middle school, we will have 3 jars for each teacher, one for each grade, 6, 7, and 8th, and they will participate by grade level rather than class. The class that collects the most amount of money will be able to cover their teacher in Silly String! In addition, we may have the runner up class cover a specials teacher, and may have one lucky student randomly selected from the second runner up class to smash a pie in the face of a special mystery staff member! So, look through your couch cushions and car seats and check your pants pockets. Start rounding up that loose change!
