CAR RIDER PARENTS/GUARDIANS
AM – PLEASE PUT YOUR CAR IN PARK WHILE STUDENTS ARE UNLOADING. We ask that you please do not let your child unload until all cars have stopped moving and you have seen one of our staff members signal you (by waving) to unload.
If you arrive after 8:45 a.m., please park your car in order to sign your child in at the front desk.
PM – For safety reasons, we load students at three different colored cones to make sure the correct child gets into the correct car.
Please enter the car rider line at the back of the line. Car rider numbers are relayed by radio and students are called in order. If you cut into the line, your child will not be ready to load and it will hold up the entire car rider line. You will be asked to park while the other cars are loaded.
Thank you for your patience.
**VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER**
FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS, PLEASE REMEMBER SCHOOL ZONES ARE A
NO CELL PHONE ZONE!
HOLMSLEY CAMPUS SECURITY FENCING
Security fencing is an important component of CFISD’s Safety and Security Measures. Installation is currently underway at 11 district campuses with more installations scheduled for the near future.
Over the years, we listened to many community members who expressed concerns about the accessibility of playgrounds and portable buildings to unauthorized visitors. When the 2019 Bond referendum passed in May, the district made installation of security fencing a priority district project. CFISD’s security fences will have card-access gates that will be locked during school days. These gates will be unlocked after school hours and on non-school days to allow the community access to playgrounds when school is not in session. The safety and security of our students and staff far outweigh any inconveniences that the public may incur.
More about campus security fencing can be found in the brief video at https://youtu.be/a35HmNw4omQ.
Thank you for your continued trust in us as we work diligently to ensure our schools offer the safest possible learning environment. Learn more about campus security fencing at www.cfisd.net/safety

Practice Integrity Act Responsibly Winning Attitude Show Respect
PBIS
Holmsley Elementary continues to be a PBIS campus. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.
Our goal is to establish school wide expectations and acknowledgement systems that everyone adheres to in the building.
The acronym P.A.W.S. stands for:
P – Practice Integrity
A – Act Responsibly
W – Winning Attitude
S – Show Respect
Holmsley’s PBIS Program
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. This program focuses adult attention on acknowledging positive behaviors in students. It also provides a universal matrix for procedures and expectations throughout the campus. Your students may talk about their P.A.W.S at Holmsley. P.A.W.S. is an acronym that stands for Practice Integrity, Act Responsibly, Winning Attitude and Show Respect. The program encourages staff members to acknowledge students who are showing these characteristics with PAW bucks. PAW bucks can be redeemed by students in their classroom “store”. Parents can participate by discussing the importance of integrity, responsibility, having a winning attitude, and showing respect at home.
NOTES FROM THE REGISTRAR
When Your Child is Absent
- When your child is absent, it is not necessary at the elementary level to call the school to report the absence. Calling will not excuse your child’s absence. E-mails for excuses are not accepted. Guardian may turn in the note themselves, send it with the student(s), or can fax a note to 281-463-5529. If you fax a note, please call us at 281-463-5885 to confirm we received it. Excuse notes must include the absent date(s), reason for the absence, child’s full name (first & last), and guardian signature.
- If your child is sent home by the nurse and is absent any following days a note will still be needed to excuse those absences.
- Under the Mandatory Attendance Law, the state requires a court warning for excessive absences. Remember to always send an excuse note with your child within three days when they return to school, explaining the reason for the absence. Any excuse received after three days is considered unexcused and could result in a court warning.
