From countless volunteer hours to donating thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships, our District is stronger because of Strongsville PTA. MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. KATHY STAREK, BUS DRIVER & SURRARRER MONITOR FOR SCS
Mrs. Kathy Starek is in this week’s Mustang Spotlight. A familiar face to many in our District, Mrs. Starek wears a number of different hats throughout a typical day. She started as an Educational Aide at SHS in 2009, and now works at Surrarrer Elementary as a Monitor, and as a bus driver for all grade levels. An avid sports enthusiast, Mrs. Starek also helps the District at Athletic events as a ticket taker and picks up extra bus routes driving our teams to away athletic contests.
“I have a good rapport and relationship with the students who are on my busses. It is helpful to be that familiar face, where they know who you are and what they can expect of you,” said Mrs. Starek. “It is also nice to run into former students around our community and have them remember you. It’s a good feeling to know that you have made a positive impression on them.”
Mrs. Starek has been a resident of Strongsville for over 18 years and that adds to the pride she takes in her roles and what she wants for all of our students. “I go above and beyond to make our students happy. Having my kids grow up in our District, I want all of the kids to do well. I enjoy seeing our District be successful through the success of our students - that ultimately makes me happy.”
Thank you Mrs. Starek for the positive impact you have on many different students in our District!

A GoFundMe account has been set up for Jon and his family to assist with their medical expenses. Please keep the Hockaday family in your thoughts.
