What Are We Up To In Room 115?

We will be working on perimeter and area. I am planning to have a quiz on Friday over the concepts we are learning.

Students are also working on a perimeter and area project for their homework this week. It is due Friday, Jan 17.

This week we will be looking at how we choose books and what kind of reading habits we have. The daily reading log will look a bit different this week as the students explore themselves as readers.

We will also be looking at book recommendations and learning how to share about books we've read and recommend books to our classmates.

Word Work

Our word work will look a bit different. The students will still be working with sorting the words but there will also be more focus on the vocabulary aspect of their patterns. I felt that the students needed more practice with the application of their words in other subject areas and need to know more about the meaning of the words in order to do so. Thank you for your patience as we try something new!

Don't forget to ask your student what their new words are and what they're working on this week. :)

We will be working on stronger paragraphs writing this week. Focusing on how to start and end paragraphs and how we know what information belongs in a paragraph together.
