Lewis and Clark were sent by Thomas Jefferson to explore/find out about everything in the Louisiana Purchase that they didn't know.

James Monroe and Robert Livingston were sent to get some part of Florida and Port Orleans from Napoleon Bonaparte.

Napoleon Bonaparte gave all that they owned to them only for $15 million.
