Phy Ed Monthly Update
Here at Bridgewater, Mrs. McCabe and Mr. Bernhard are going to start a monthly PE update for you to use. Starting with this month and continuing on to the end of the year, you can expect a PE update with news, PE/health facts and upcoming events that will help you know what is happening in the world of PE here at Bridgewater.

As the snow could start to come in, we see an increase in winter boots. Please have your child remember to have good tennis shoes for PE.

Project Friendship
Project Friendship is a mentoring program for ALL youth in grades 2-7. All children benefit from having a mentoring relationship with a caring adult. We match youth with volunteer Carleton or St. Olaf students to build a meaningful friendship. The mentoring relationship focuses on building confidence, inspiring character and creating connections for each individual.
The mentor meets the child on the college campus for one hour each week during the academic year to share a campus-based activity, adventure, and conversation. Matches commonly last for two to three years but can establish friendship for a lifetime.
The development of healthy self-esteem is one of the most important elements of growing up and plays a major role in determining what kind of person a child will become. Mentors help children feel that they are important and that they are individuals who deserve respect and attention. It is our goal to increase the child’s self-confidence, help them better their self-worth and provide guidance for the child to make healthy choices.

Bridgewater Elementary School, situated on a 14-acre campus just south of downtown Northfield, is a K–5 public school serving approximately 550 students. It serves the neighborhoods on Northfield’s southern side,
Dundas, and the rural area south of Highway 19 and west of Highway 246. Students benefit from an active parent-teacher organization, Bridegwater Booster Club (BBC) and many parent volunteers.
The staff is intensely dedicated to offering a high quality, well-rounded education that strives to meet the specific needs of each student. We focus on empowering our students in their learning and building a solid foundation for their educational journeys.
