A Somber Anniversary

Today is the 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States. Since then 57 million children have lost their lives. Please remember to pray for the parents who feel abortion is the only answer to an unplanned pregnancy.

'Drive Right' Classes

As Aquin does not provide Driver's Education during the school day, students need to take Driver's Education classes elsewhere. One option is 'Drive Right' in Winnebago. If your student will be 15 by March 24, there is a session beginning on February 24.

To register for this session, or see what other sessions are available, please go to the 'Drive Right' website.

Better late than never!

To commemorate the Aquin Volleyball Championship this fall, we are offering shirts with the front (left) and back (right) designs above. Shirts are navy and available as short-sleeved t's, long-sleeved t's, crewneck sweatshirts and hoodies. The players and coaches will be given a short-sleeved t-shirt by the Aquin Boosters (thanks Boosters!). The crewneck sweatshirts are 'dress code approved' at both campuses. The hoodies are 'dress code approved' at St. Joe's Campus only.

Please place your order by Friday, January 30. Shirts should arrive the following week. Pre-payment is required by mail or in person at either Aquin campus office. Our St. Joseph Campus is at 202 West Pleasant, our Jr-Sr High Campus is at 1419 South Galena. If you have any questions, contact or call 815.235.3154 x 226.

Beneficiary for Catholic Schools Week

100% of the donations collected next week for these 'special dress days' will be given to Jasmyn Cheever, an Eastland Kindergarten student who was diagnosed with stomach cancer on New Year's Eve.

The High School Student Board designated the beneficiary and came up with 2 great donation options. There are 4 'special dress days' next week. The donation required to earn the 'special dress privilege' is $3 per student per day. To encourage participation all week--and to help with the morning hassle of finding $3 each day--the Student Board decided to also offer an option of a $10 donation per student for the entire week. Of course, we will gladly accept more generous donations to help this little girl as she battles this fight.

No one fights cancer alone!
