Words of Inspiration
"The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught as that every child should be given the wish to learn."

Operation Give Back Donations
As I have in the past years, I am inviting you to join me in making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in our community. Each winter, Operation Give Back creates a store for families to come to and choose gifts for their children. Join me in donating an unwrapped kids toy. You can drop it off in the clinic and Nurse D will make sure we get them to OGB. Donations will be accepted until December 9.
Operation Give Back Volunteer Opportunity
Please find attached the volunteering link for our Holiday Store. Some staff members have participated in the past. This is a special holiday event that lends itself nicely to volunteering with coworkers or families (kids need to be in high school and older), and we welcome any Sycamore staff members who would like to join us!
Thank you and GO AVES!!

Annual CIPA Requirements
CIPA, or the Children’s Internet Protection Act is a piece of federal legislation enacted by Congress in 2000 to address concerns about children's access to obscene or harmful content over the Internet. CIPA imposes certain requirements on schools that must be completed annually. As such, it is important that each team works to develop a plan to complete the outlined CIPA requirements by the end of the quarter. In Blackboard you will find two Digital Citizenship courses. One designed for 5th grade and one for 6th. As a team, please create a plan to ensure that each student is guided through each of the outlined sections in the course. There should be a total of six sections per course. At the minimum, teachers should show students the video embedded in the course and should work to facilitate a discussion of the video using the provided discussion questions as they are outlined. The Student Activities for each section are optional. Once you have completed each section and the course as presented, you will need to complete the following FORM. Any questions? Please feel free to reach out to Lisa for help!
