STEM Opportunity limited spaces for Project Infinite Green- Applications due this week!
Project Infinite Green takes students on a journey of energy sources. We partner with energy companies, national laboratories, universities, and governmental agencies. Students have the opportunity to learn from and network with the best in the energy field. If your child has the desire to learn about energy, is naturally interested in STEM subjects and has the maturity to interact with high-level scientists and energy professionals, this program is a good fit.
The grade school session runs on Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4:30 at Lemont High School. On days that we have offsite learning experiences, the session will run longer. The return time depends on the distance we have to travel. Participation in sessions is mandatory.
The form indicates that applications were due by Sept 28, but they are open to the end of this week!

OQMS Tardy Policy
Arriving at school on time is an expectation for all Old Quarry students. Tardy students miss out on important information and disrupt the class when late to school.
- When a student is tardy to school four times in a trimester parents will be contacted to discuss and brainstorm solutions.
- When a student is tardy seven times to school during a trimester, the student will be placed on a tardy plan and will make up the minutes tardy to school on Friday's after school.
- Tardies to individual classes during the school day follow the same procedure, 4th= parent contact and lunch detention and at the 7th tardy during a trimester the student will receive an office referral.
We will emphasize the importance of promptness during advisory to help your child understand the connection of job-related skills and school. Employers often cite strong work values and personal management skills as important when hiring the right employee. Please speak with your child about being prompt and skills they need to develop to be successful.
PARCC scores will be mailed this week-see detailed letter
