American Revolution
Patrick Henry
He was a member of the Virginia house of burgess and was instrumental in causing the Bill of Rights to be adopted as part of the U.S. constitution. He also most famous for his speech ending with " Give me liberty or give me death".
Intolerable Acts
The acts took away Massachusetts self-government and historic rights, causing outrage and resistance in the Thirteen Colonies. They were also key developments to the American Revolution that out broke in 1775.
Boston Tea Party
British ships carrying tea sailed in the Boston harbor and refused to leave until colonist took there tea. Colonist disguised as Indians boarded the ships and threw the tea overboard.
Boston Massacre
The Massacre was the 1770, pre-revolutionary incident growing out of the anger against the British troops sent to Boston to maintain order and to in force the Townshend Act.
Loyalist
Loyalist were American colonist that remained loyal to the British Empire during the American Revolutionary War.
