Updated technology for Chemistry!
This year a small group of teachers from high schools across the district meet are working developing and piloting new technology and labs that foster inquiry based learning in Chemistry. Ms. Seo from Marshall was the first to pilot which led to a rich collaborative session around the student work samples. The new technology and investigations will be rolled out to all Chemistry teachers starting the 2016-2017 school year.
Caltech's Community Science Event
K-12 teachers spent an evening with Caltech students and scientists to learn more about Disciplinary Core Idea PS2: Motion and Forces.
ME 72 Robotic Competition
On March 8th, robotics class from each middle school traveled to Caltech to watch the Mechanical Engineering department's annual robotics competition.

State Assessment Updates
The State Board of Education will make a decision regarding assessments for the new science standards on March 9th, 2016. Stayed tuned for April's Adventures where there will be more information about the new state science tests!
We will administer the CST in grades 5, 8 and 10 this spring.
