Great Happenings at MPS!
We have an agreement on Field and Clinical Partnership between Framingham State University and Maynard Public Schools.
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Softball Team for their 5-3 victory against Hopedale claiming the CMASS Championship!!! Go Tigers!!!
Track Meet of Champions in Westfield - congratulations to our track athletes, their families, and the coaches for making the trip to Westfield repeatedly!
Spring Sports Celebration was held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
Multilingual Learners family potluck dinner was held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 - this included students, families, staff, and even parents of staff.
Fowler School Assistant Principal search update
We will be hosting the two finalists for the Fowler Assistant Principal position on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM at the Fowler School. This is a great opportunity to come and meet the candidates and ask questions of them as well.
Frank “Dan” Hill is presently the assistant principal at Athol Royalston Middle School in Athol where his primary responsibilities revolve around seventh and eighth-grade students. Mr. Hill previously served twenty-one years in the Gardner Public Schools, including time as an assistant principal and principal at schools that ranged from PreK to grade 5. He also worked as a middle school special education teacher in Athol Royalston. Mr. Hill received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston and his Master's Degree from Fitchburg State University with a concentration in Special Education. Screening Committee members were impressed with Mr. Hill’s wide range of educational experience, his warm and sincere manner, and his thoughtful responses to interview questions.
David Snyder is presently a seventh-grade English/ Language Arts teacher in the Waltham Public Schools where has worked for the past fifteen years. Prior to coming to Waltham, he served as an intervention specialist in Hudson Falls Central School District in New York. Mr. Snyder received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta and a Master of Science for Teachers from St. Rose College in Albany, New York. He also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Administration from American International College. Screening Committee members were impressed with Mr. Snyder‘s strong values and belief in high expectations, his experience working with English learners and a diverse student population, his approachable manner, and his engaging personality.
One candidate will meet with parents and community members from
6:30 -7:00 PM, and the other candidate will follow at 7:00 -7:30 PM.

This event is made possible by our sponsors, the restaurants, and folks like you who donate to MEF. Proceeds benefit MEF's grant program that funds new learning opportunities in the Maynard Public Schools.

MPS COVID Update
Our current COVID cases between May 26 and June 1, 2022, are as follows:
Maynard High School: 0 students, 0 staff member
Fowler School: 2 students, 0 staff members
Green Meadow Elementary School: 14 students, 2 staff members
As a reminder, we are an optional mask school, and everyone can wear a mask within the school buildings. At this time, we encourage everyone to wear a mask. The purpose is to continue to have all students and staff in school learning and remaining healthy. Please be vigilant and stay home if you are sick. We wish those who need it a speedy recovery.

Music Concert which will be held at Green Meadow. The concert will feature students in grades K-3 and will be held outside on June 7th with a rain date of June 9th. The K-1 concert will begin promptly at 9:15 and the 2-3 concert will begin at 10:00 AM.
June 7 (MHS)
Car Parade through town.
Leaving the front of MHS at approximately 1:15 pm and concluding at approximately 1:45. Will include driving by the GM & Fowler on Tiger Drive.
June 8 (FS):
at 11:30 am MHS Senior Walkthru at Fowler hallways.

Green Meadow Field Day is scheduled for June 8th, 2022

1. Senior Walkthrough in caps & gowns through the GM & Fowler starting at approximately 11:30 and concluding at noon.
2. Senior Awards Ceremony starting at 6:30. Includes Superintendent's awards. Ending at approximately 8:30. In the MHS gym.
June 10 (MHS)
Graduation starts at 6:30 at Alumni Field. Ending at approximately 8:30.
June 14 (MHS)
Underclassmen Awards. Juniors at 7:45, Freshmen at 8:45, Sophomores at 9:45 Held in the MHS auditorium. Concludes by 10:45.
June 21 at 9 am: Fowler Graduation at Alumni Field (In case of rain, auditorium)
