DIRECT EXPERIENCES: You can create in your own classroom; Use Your Imagination
Giving students direct experiences
- Doing things physically, hands on: manipulating, moving etc. Practicals, experiments, explorations, research, etc. Moving about the classroom.
- Handling primary sources and real objects
- Multi-sensory experiences that include seeing, handling, smelling, tasting, and hearing,
- sounds, rhythm, and music, etc.
- Excursions, visits, field trips, ‘shadowing’ someone at work, etc (see the short account later in this section)
- Finding out for themselves.
Another way to provide Engagement in your classroom.

Get Your Evening Event in....Bingo Night At Muraski
Calling all teachers and staff!
The PTA would like to invite all teachers and staff to be guest callers at our BINGO Family Fun Night in April. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will be playing from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 23. Students in 3rd through 5th grade will play from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. Please consider coming in to call numbers for a little bit! The kids would love to see their teachers during after school hours!!

AIR TESTING Chromebook Information
Muraski - AIR TESTING - All tests begin at 9:30am
ELA - Grades 3, 4, 5 - April 18th and April 19th
Math - Grades 3, 4, 5 - May 2nd and May 3rd
Science - Grade 5 - May 4th and May 7th
Chromebooks/Carts:
Tina will assign a specific cart to each testing room. Do not swap out carts after assigning. (Assignments below)
Check assigned cart for damaged keyboards prior to testing (please turn in to the building tech assistant).
Teachers be sure cart is plugged in and charging. Check that all chromebooks are plugged in and charging.
Teachers make sure you have a mouse for each student. Students should bring their own headsets.
Back-up chromebooks should be readily available.
In the case of a sustained network disruption or AIR issue, we may have to reschedule the test. Please, plan accordingly.
Although many of our students have participated in online testing or field testing, they could still practice going to the AIR Secure App before this round of testing. Watch this video starting at the 1:25 minute mark for student login info.
Chromebook Assignments: Teachers who are administering the AIR test, please check your chromebooks to make sure they are in working order, and charged for the day of the test.

AIR TEST DATES
2017-2018 AIR Folder. A resource to add to your google drive. In this folder contains a new manual, checklists, administration video, teacher scripts and probably anything else you will need. We will have a meeting prior to testing on Monday, April 16th at 8:30 in the media center.

FOLLOW 2 STEPS TO SELF ASSESS YOUR TBT TEAM - At a TBT Meeting...
To be completed by April 16th. TBT Self Assessment Rubric (Copies in the Think Tank)
1. Please highlight areas that you believe need to be refined by your grade level, and turn your individual sheets into your grade level BLT member by April 16th. Each teacher from the TBT will complete an assessment. Score your own and highlight refinement areas.
2. Take a look at the rubric this month with your TBT team.
- Discuss and Evaluate with your grade level, where you feel your TBT team is TOGETHER.
- Give yourselves a score in each BLUE Category on the chart. Mark on the shared link.
- Copies of the rubric are in the Think Tank to reference to.
- If you have questions, let me know.
