A Note from Dr. Reynolds
Beginning November 29th, we are going to ask that those who choose to be here prior to 3:00 pm to go ahead and move to the end (where the line begins). We ask that you line up in one line to the right (just like in the morning for drop off). We will not allow cars in the left lane until 3:00 pm, so cars can get into the parking lot for pre-k pick-up and early dismissal.
Early dismissal- you need to be here by 2:50 to be sure you do not get block in the lane. Please park in the parking lot. DO not park in the left or right lane.
Pre-k pick-up -please park in the designated spot for pre-K or in the KDDC lot and walk over.
Please remember that is the law that you can not be on your cell phone in a school zone. School zones are all hands free.
Please remember that you must go in the correct way of the parking lot, please do not go in the wrong way. This is very dangerous, we have preschool students who are in the parking lot daily.
Thank you,
Dr. Reynolds

Burrus Gives Back
Hello BURRUS families!
Our related arts team is coordinating our annual GIVING PROJECTS. We want to teach our children the importance of giving back and helping others. During PLCs this month, we will be focusing on giving and discussing this more with the students. Listed below are the giving projects that our school will be participating in during this season.
Your child's class chose one of the following and the teacher should reach out to you to let you know which one your class will be giving back to.
Giving Tree
The Giving Tree project is very similar to the angel tree. Your class would sponsor a child here in our community that is in need by providing their gifts for Christmas. You will be given sizes, wish list items, and other helpful information prior to Thanksgiving break. Please let Mrs. Sprouls know by this Friday if you would like to participate in this project (if you haven't already).
Safe Place for Animals
Safe Place for Animals is a non-profit in Gallatin that helps thousands of animals every year. SPA is led by a wonderful group of volunteers with approximately 120 animals in their facility. If you would like to give, please choose an item from the list below.
- Cat or dog treats
- Purina One puppy Chow
- Any brand of kitty litter
- Canned cat food with a pop-top
- Canned dog food with a pop-top
- Purina One Grain-Free dog food
Christmas for Teens
Each year the Sumner County Jail ministry helps provide Christmas for children of the incarcerated at the Sumner County Jail. This program was initiated to make connections with the families and aid in the rehabilitation of the inmates. We are collecting new items for teenage children, which are often overlooked. Here are some items we believe the teens would enjoy:
- new coats in teen sizes
- backpacks
- Hydro flask type water bottles (does not need to be name brand)
- journals
- ear buds and headphones
- fuzzy socks
- vinyl sticks
- sharpies
- art supplies
- non-expensive jewelry
- keychains and lanyards
- wallets and purses
Soles for Souls
We also have a special school-wide project that will be led and organized by our student leadership team! They will be collecting new or used shoes for Soles for Souls. This will also be a house competition! For every pair of shoes brought in will earn 1 point for your house. Each house will have a collection box/bin in the lobby. Shoes will be placed in your house color bin outside the gym.
Thanks for your participation and help teaching our kids the importance of GIVING BACK! :)
