Tisch's Tidbits
Middle School Bound!
It won't be long until we head to the middle school for one final field trip. During this visit, the students will have an opportunity to practice opening a locker. I share this with you because one of the biggest causes of stress is the dreaded lock. What is my combination? Which way do I turn the dial? What was the combination again? It is not uncommon for there to be tears when trying to access the lockers. One of the things you can do at home to help prepare your kiddo is to buy two dial locks, lock them together and then have a lock off with your child. Whoever unlocks their lock first wins! This is a fun way to practice so when school hits and the minutes are ticking for the bell, unlocking the locker will be a breeze.
4th Grade Picture
Be ready to pose and smile! Tomorrow, one of our fantastic moms, Mrs. Stoner, will be taking a 4th grade picture of all the students at 12:30. It will be a really special keepsake to remember their final year here at Union.

Spring Clean Up
Spring-Clean-Up will be this Sunday, April 23, from 1pm-3pm. We plan to prep the vegetable gardens for planting, pull weeds and dead plants, and clean the butterfly garden.
We would love to have you join us! As before, the class with the most volunteers will win an extra recess with Popsicles. Additionally, raffle prizes will be available for volunteers.
ISTEP and NWEA
Part 2 of ISTEP is around the corner. This portion will be completed on the computer. Please note that we will begin Monday, April 24 and will finish Wednesday, May 3. All of our testing will be in the morning. If at all possible, please try to avoid appointments during these times.
We will have a little bit of a breather and will then have NWEA. The dates for this assessment are May 10-12 in the morning.
I am SO proud of the progress each of these kiddos have been making and have no doubt that they show this on both ISTEP and NWEA.
