October
Theme for the Year
At St. Joseph Catholic School, each and every day we are training students to be missionary disciples, and learning to recognize God in our lives and in the world around us,
full of HOPE for the future.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a nurturing and prayerful learning environment committed to academic excellence, training missionary disciples to seek virtue, wisdom, and truth, in partnership with a community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
Motto:
Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
From the Principal
We are so grateful to Deacon Rodney at St. Joseph Parish for leading the Communion Service this week, while our priests are away at meetings. We were able to worship the Lord together, in both song and prayer. Two practices at the heart of our Catholic school tradition. During the service, students learned about the vestments worn by deacons and priests and how they vary. This made for intriguing moments during Deacon Rodney's homily on the Gospel. He also shared that his own children attended SJCS years ago. Most importantly, he reminded us that we are called to serve the Lord, even two by two. We are not on this journey alone. We are made to work together, to grow in Christ together and bring others to Christ, together.
In Christ's service,
Diane Price, Ed.L.

SJCS Robotics Team - The RoboKnights!
This week in Robotics, students started with a group problem-solving activity. The activity was designed to help them learn to listen and communicate with each other. Students then broke into three groups. Each group had to choose three missions they wanted to program. They then worked on that programming. Hard work, but you are learning so much, RoboKnights!
