Hello, Castle View Families:

What an amazing week. It has been a joy to watch our community come together, share memories and laughter, compete with fun in mind and sportsmanship at heart, and take such good care of one another. Our school bustled with spirit and pride of this place and the extraordinary people in it. A big thank you to our leaders in Student Government for the work you did, the persistence you showed, and the creativity you exhibited to pull off these experiences for all of us.

I have been hearing about Showdown since I started listening to students and staff last spring to get a sense of what this community is all about. I saw a twinkle in the eye of everyone who tried to describe it to me, reach for words and stories that didn't quite capture it, and conclude to say-- "You'll just have to see it when it happens." They were right. I just had to see it-- and here's what I learned: Showdown is an encapsulation-- perhaps a manifestation-- of what makes Castle View such a special place-- a place where kids with different passions, different talents, and different points of view come together to be a part of something bigger than themselves; a place where they all get celebrated for being exactly who they are and accepted as essential members of the Sabercat family. I knew it before, but I know it more today-- I am so profoundly lucky to be here.

I hope you all have a safe and restful Fall Break. As always, thank you for sharing your kids with us. It is our honor to serve them.
