Welcome Back Mustangs!
Our first two days of in-seat instruction were a success! The students were outstanding as we worked through the processes of bussing, passing time, Clear to Go, and pick-up/drop off. Parents please make sure the you use the parent pick-up and drop off lot nearest the softball diamonds. The main drive is reserved to get the buses through expeditiously. One of my goals is to try to improve the use of space in the parent lot for pick up and drop off, so you may see some changes in the way that lot is used. Student safety is the number one goal, followed by streamlining the process in which parents come in the lot and exit the lot. I appreciate your cooperation and help in making this more convenient for parents and safer for our students.
Have a great weekend and Cohort 1 students…We Can’t wait to see you Monday!
With Avondale Pride,
Jason Ohrt
Proud Principal of Avondale Middle School
Zoom Security Sign On
Next week we will begin having students sign on to zoom with our enhanced Security Sign On feature. If your student is signed in with there school Avondale Gmail account and their Chrome OS is up to date, they should have no issues. The most common issue we are having is when students have a Chromebook that has not been updated. Please see the link below for a step by step process that should help solve this issue.
Almost all students having difficulty getting logged on are encountering a proxy server message. This means you have to update the Chrome Operating System (OS).
*Simply search updates in the main menu tab.
*Check for updates and let the Chromebook update itself.
Please Zoom Sign In Help Tutorial
If your issues continue, please contact the AMS front office so we can direct you to someone that can help. 248-537-6300

Band Update
The district has purchased special facemasks for 6th-8th grade in-person band students that will allow them to play their instruments, as well as instrument bell covers. Students will be required to use both the facemask and bell cover when playing their instrument in-person at all times.
Instrument facemasks and bell covers should be taken home after in-person use, washed appropriately, and then return with the student upon their next day of in-person band instruction.
