Maker Space Launch, Oct. 20th! (See photo included)
After loads of planning, faculty and student input, and visits to many of PDX's maker spaces, we are pleased to announce that the Stoller Middle School Maker Space, the Creative Cabana (named by our students), is opening on Friday, October 20th! Stay tuned for more information about open lab times for students, as well as a schedule for design challenges students can explore. In the meantime, we are looking for duct tape roll donations in all colors and patterns! Please drop off your donation in the library.
Science Bowl - Update!
Thank you to all the students who have submitted their names in the lottery for the openings on our two Science Bowl Teams. We have decided to continue with our past practice of administering a qualifying exam rather than lottery style for selecting our Science Bowl Teams. The qualifying exam will be held after school Tuesday, October 17th from 4-5pm. This is open to all students. Bring a pen or pencil and meet in the cafeteria. If you have any questions regarding this process please contact Jan Olsvik via email at janice_olsvik@beaverton.k12.or.us.
Science Olympiad - Update!
Thank you to all the 6th grade students who have submitted their names in the lottery for the openings on our three Science Olympiad Teams. We are now opening lottery slots for 7th and 8th graders. Go to the attendance office to put your name in the lottery. We have 4 slots for 8th grade, 2 slots for 7th grade and 9 slots for 6th grade. The lottery for all grade levels will close on Monday, October 16th. If you have any questions regarding this process please contact Jan Olsvik via email at janice_olsvik@beaverton.k12.or.us.
After School Activities Bus
Last Reminder...
Middle and high school after school activities buses will feature “transit style” bus routes for students. Students will be assigned stops within ½ mile of their homes. All stops will allow students to utilize sidewalks and avoid the crossing of busy streets. The majority of stops will be located near major housing areas (apartments, community centers or neighborhood elementary schools). The advantage to having assigned stops is the ability for parents to access the My Stop App to track their child’s bus.
If you need to request bus service for your student please fill out the Activity Bus Request form. This form is also available in the attendance office.
Badminton Club
It is time to sign up for Session 2 of the Badminton Club. The second session starts the week of October 23rd and the cost is $35. You may also pay online. Step by step directions for how to pay online are available here. Please note if you pay online you must still turn your registration form into the attendance office. All registration forms are also available in the attendance office. Payments may also be made with check or cash.
Ping Pong Club
Ping Pong Club starts Tuesday, October 24th and the cost is $35. More detailed information about the dates and times may be found on the Ping Pong registration form. You may also pay online.
