Have you heard of the Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation?
We have been around for many years and are a foundation that fundraises to give grants to educators in our district. Those grants fund equipment and supplies for students. Lago Vista ISD students are the direct beneficiaries of all of our efforts.
We are currently looking for community volunteers to help with our Giving Tuesday Campaign. You can learn more about how to help and who we are at our website, https://www.lvisdeftx.com , or by emailing lvisdeftx@gmail.com.
When LVISD students thrive, our community does too!
Free and Reduced- Price Meal News
As a reminder, LVISD transitioned back to Free and Reduced-Price Meals for the 22-23 school year. The federal government is no longer funding the free lunch program, which was part of the COVID-19 pandemic aid package. All families are encouraged to fill out the Free and Reduced-Price Meals applications. If your child previously received free or reduced-priced meals, a new application must be received to determine if your child still qualifies. Previous free and reduced-meal eligibility has now expired. You can fill out the Free & Reduced Meal application online at MySchoolApps by clicking on the following links:
For questions regarding applications, please contact Michelle Jackson, and for questions regarding student purchases, please contact Jennifer Porter.

District Champions x2!!
Congrats to the 7th and 8th Grade volleyball teams - BOTH teams won the district tournament on Saturday. District Championships are hard to come by, but to win both grades is pretty amazing.
Football Wraps Up Against Jarrell
The LVMS football teams had their final games of the 2022 season last Wednesday against the Jarrell Cougars in Jarrell, TX. A special shoutout goes to the LVISD administration, staff, parents, cheerleaders, and players for their support for our teams for this season. Without you, we would not have been as successful as we were.
The LVMS Super team entered the field with confidence for their last game of the season. The Vikings scored early and easily putting up 14 points and holding the Cougars to 0. The final score of the game ended with the Vikings on top, 14-0. The results of this game leave the Super Vikings at a final season record of 3-4 and a district record of 2-1.
The LVMS 7th grade team stepped onto the field, ready to play their last district game. They played with conviction and determination, moving the ball up and down the field consistently throughout the entire game. They scored 2 touchdowns in the first half and added another 2 in the second half. The final score of the game ended with the Vikings on top, 30-0. The results of this game leave the 7th grade Vikings at a final season record of 4-3 and a district record of 2-1.
The LVMS 8th grade team was anxious about playing the Cougars for their final game of the season. They understood that it would not only be their last game of the season, but also it would be the last game of their middle school career. Even though they are excited to play at the high school next year, many have very fond memories of their time learning the game at the middle school level. Their anxiousness did not show on the field, however. They cut through the Cougar defense, throughout the game, almost scoring at will. The only Cougar touchdown came late in the game. The final score of the game ended with the Vikings on top, 30-6. The results of this game leave the 8th grade Vikings at a final season record of 4-3 and a district record of 2-1.
We appreciate the support that we received for our LVMS football program this year. Without the support of our administrators, we would not be able to play the game. Without our fellow staff members, we would not have coverage for our classes when we had to leave early for a game. Without our parents, our athletes would not be able to participate in our after school practices. (A special shoutout to our team moms who kept our coaches fed and our locker rooms "festive"!) We thank our cheerleaders for keeping the crowds pumped up at the pep rallies and games. Our players sacrifice time with their friends and family to be a part of something that is bigger than themselves, and we applaud them for their dedication and love for the game. We did not have our best year this year, but next year starts now, and now, we have something to prove. GO VIKINGS!!!
