Student-Created QR Code Samples
Sample #1: My Challenge Booklet
Students create self-checking word problems with QR codes. Suitable for any subject.
Sample #2: Fotobabble and QR Codes
All About Me
Teacher account required for Fotobabble. Student pictures are uploaded and student records themselves telling some interesting facts about themselves. Student copies the unique URL to their Fotobabble and makes a QR code at qrstuff.com. The QR code can then be added to a poster.
1st grade bats
Students researched bats, then wrote and illustrated one interesting fact they learned. The teacher uploaded their illustrations into Fotobabble, used the URL it generated to create a QR code for each student. The 3 components were pasted together and displayed so that others could scan the posters and learn about bats.
Sample #3: Voice Recording with Vocaroo
Vocaroo can be used to record student voices. Unlike some recording sites, there is no time limit for the recordings. Once the recording is complete, you can generate a QR code from within Vocaroo (meaning you don't have to go to another website to create one).
1st grade We Love The Ocean class book
Students researched an ocean animal, then wrote and illustrated facts they'd learned.
The campus ETS used Vocaroo to record students retelling an interesting fact about their animal. A QR code was created and added to each student's page. The teacher then sent all the materials to www.studentreasures.com and a class book was created. Parents were able to purchase their own copies from the site.

2nd Grade Father's Day Ties
Students designed a tie for their dads and wrote them a letter about what made their dad special. They then recorded themselves reading the letter to their dads.
Other Ideas/Suggestions for using Vocaroo:
Students can use Vocaroo for Virtual Show and Tell, All about Me posters, Virtual Museums, BlueBonnet book talks, Poetry units, and any other project your students already complete during the year. They just record themselves, generate the QR code and attach it to their project to give it an interactive element. The possibilities are endless!
Sample #4: QR Voice
QR Voice generates a computerized voice from text (100 character limit) and automatically creates a QR Code. When scanned, the computerized voice reads whatever was typed. Students can come up with their own riddles, then go to the qrvoice.net website to type the answer. They generate a QR code for the answer, and once it's copied (using the Snipping Tool, then saved to the StuPublic folder) the teacher can print them out and create a class riddle book.
Question: Why do cows wear bells?
Sample #5: Chatter Kids App and QR Codes
Using the Chatter Kids app, students can snap a picture of anything and give a moving mouth and a voice to that image. Chatter Kids projects can be uploaded to teacher webpages, which will generate a unique URL for each Chatter Kids image. The URL can then be copied and pasted into the QR Stuff website to create a QR code. The QR Code can be printed and pasted to the actual picture or drawing. When scanned, the QR code will bring up a video of the image that shows the moving mouth saying the words that were recorded.
Chatter Kids: Penguin Facts
Ms. Judge, a 1st grade teacher at Shadycrest, used the Chatter Kids app with various projects that her class did each year. She turned on the "file submission" feature on her webpage and then taught her students how to upload their Chatter Kids projects. QR Codes were made for some of those and placed on their work, which was hung outside her classroom so that other students could interact with the projects. Parents were also notified about the projects posted to her webpage so that they could hear and see their child's project.
