Here's What's Happening at Pink

Olweus Kick-Off

We had a great time this morning at Good Morning Pink! We welcomed the Griffin Middle School Band, Wakeland High School Student Ambassadors and Wakeland Football Players, Cheerleaders and Wally the Wolverine! Pink staff were excited to see some familiar faces as well!

They helped us kick-off our Olweus Anti-Bullying program at Pink and reminded us that it is our job to keep our school safe and bully-free!

The Olweus Anti-Bullying Program is a universal, schoolwide effort involving all adults and students in a school community focused on preventing bullying and effective interventions in bullying situations that may arise. In addition, the program focuses on changing climate and social norms so that bullying isn’t “cool” and no children are marginalized or excluded.

Check out pictures from this morning below! Also, if you would like to learn more about the Olweus Program, click the button below.

College Week at Pink 2015

We had a great week learning about different colleges and universities! It was great to see the students showing their school pride on our dress up days. Check out the below site with videos of colleges/universities our Pink staff attended.

Pink Book Club: "Chat and Chew"

We have 60 students in 4th and 5th grade that participate in Mrs. Jensen's lunch book club! The students are currently reading and discussing the book, The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom and they are loving it! In November, the students will have an opportunity to Skype with the author of the book, Christopher Healey.

Looking for a good book to read with your kiddos, check it out and check out pics from last week's Chat and Chew below.
