Winter Weather ❄️
As we transition into the colder months, it's essential to ensure the comfort and safety of our students. We want to remind you about the importance of sending your child to school in appropriate winter clothing.
With dropping temperatures and inclement weather on the horizon, it's crucial that our students are well-prepared to face the challenges of the season. Wearing proper winter attire, including warm coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and boots, will help keep your child comfortable and protected against the cold.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to your child's well-being. We appreciate your partnership in creating a warm, safe, and comfortable learning environment at our school.

Tis the season....
Can you believe next week is already Thanksgiving? Before we know it Christmas will be here! Holiday time often coincides with eating lots of yummy foods and treats. There’s nothing wrong with having your grandmother's famous pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving or those special fudge treats for Christmas. The problem we face is when we eat pie and sugary treats every day without including all the fruits and vegetables we need as well. This month’s presentation in the elementary schools has been on healthy eating, why we need certain food groups, and the importance of watching our sugar intake. Did you know that a 20 oz bottle of Orange Crush has 17 teaspoons of sugar in it? Mountain Dew has even more! The American Heart Association recommends that women and children ages 2 to 18 years of age limit their sugar intake to 6 teaspoons per day and men 9 teaspoons per day. A good calculation to follow is that 4 grams of sugar is equal to 1 teaspoon of sugar. How much sugar are we consuming just in our drinks? Too much sugar in our diet can have a lot of negative effects on our health including heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, and obesity to name a few. So as we enter this season of thanks and giving, give yourself the gift of health. Yes have those special goodies, but make a promise to yourself to be a healthier you and a healthier family.
