Principal's Message

Greetings Elm Families,


We hope everyone had a wonderful week! It was a big week at Elm! We had many celebrations starting with our Elm School Citizen of the Year Award Reciepients being recognized, Our Classroom Teacher of the Year, we had an SEL/Musical Day and Elm Middle School played in and hosted the Leyden Norwood Athletic Conference Girl's Basketball Tournament! Wow!! What a week!!!! An amazing one at that!!!!


Next week 8th grade will take the Illinois Science Assessment on Tuesday! Take a few minutes and read the letter below regarding the Illinois Science Assessment and the Illinois Assessment of Readiness!

Congratulations and Recognitions!

Congratulations to our community members who were recognized at our Board Meeting this week! 7th graders Maddison Ranallo and Sarah Scheidt were honored for being Elm Middle School's 2021-2022 SCOTY Award Recipients and Ms. Sarah Rippe was recognized for her Meritorious Service Award for Classroom Teacher of the Year! We are so proud of our community members! Way to go Cougars!!!

Sunflowers to Support Peace

Students from all grade levels met to create sunflowers in support of peace in the Ukraine

Change to Make a Change

Advisories will be collecting change/donations from students to donate to help support relief efforts in Ukraine. We will also be collecting medical materials to send as well. A list of materials that are needed can be found here.

Illinois State Testing Reminders

Students will be taking the IAR & ISA tests over the next few weeks.


The ISA will only be taken by 8th graders on March 22nd. More information can be found here.


IAR tests will be given to all students at Elm the week of April 11th. More information can be found here.

It is time to celebrate our families and cultures! If you and your family would like to participate in planning our Multicultural Night, we will send out a Google Form to sign up in the near future.


Ideas include dance and cooking demonstrations, a community potluck, and multicultural readings!

Come support our very own Isabella Wernsing who will be performing in the EPHS Musical 9 to 5 this weekend! Isabella has worked so hard and we are so proud of her! Way to go Isabella!!!!

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 22-23 school year will be open on Monday 3/14! If you will have an incoming Kindergarten student, please see this link for more information!

If a student is going to be absent from class, a parent or guardian should call our Attendance Clerk at (708) 583-6600 or email elmattendance@epcusd401.org.


When calling, please spell your child’s last name and give their student ID number.
