May Update
A Few Days Before the Big Day of Giving
As ACTS approaches our third “birthday” in September, we are making a shift from working within William Jessup University to alongside Jessup in a formal partnership. We are deeply appreciative of Dr. John Jackson and the Jessup team who have provided encouragement and support services from our beginnings in fall of 2012. In this launch period, we are continuing our efforts to develop sustainable funding for the launching of the Every School/ Every Neighborhood Initiative, as well as the ongoing work of SacramentoPRAYS, Serve Sacramento and Leader Convergence. As we have yet to set up our own independent organizational status, we will continue to receive financial support through Jessup.
In the coming years, we look forward to formally participating in the Big Day of Giving – which I am sure you have heard about from so many other worthy non-profit organizations. For ACTS, I want to ask you to give to our “A Few Days Before the Big Day of Giving” effort between now and May 4. Simply click this link and you can give a one time or repeating gift - https://theactsgroup.webconnex.com/Give We hope to have 100 of our 400 readers of this newsletter give by May 4. Please give and I will look forward to giving you a great report in our next ACTS update.
Together for the Gospel –

Pray
“We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future.” Ephesians 4:4
What does it look like to have the mindset of one Kingdom work with many components? To see one another as vital body parts whose vitality is as important as your own, and even necessary? At the end of April, many intercessory prayer leaders from our region came together to talk and allow the Lord to change the way they would see one another. The result was profound! There was a “reset” of relationship as God gave a fresh revelation of we are one body, how He both sees us and desires us to see one another. With this came incredible unity. These leaders left the meeting knowing that God had just shifted, rearranged, reorganized, joined, and restructured them as a group in a magnificent way. All in 1-3/4 hours! This meeting is a great example of how SacramentoPRAYS can convene people, build relationships and weave together the diverse prayer strands of the Sacramento region.
Serve
Serve Sacramento is partnering with the Rivercats for it's 4th annual Season of Service Celebration which will be held on May 22nd at Raley Field during a Rivercats game. Participants in the season are encouraged to come to both experience the pregame activities and see videos of various service events of the season that will be shown on the video screen in between innings. Key service leaders and representatives will have a chance to walk on the diamond at the beginning of the game. Genesis church's MLK gospel choir will sing the national anthem and attendees will have the opportunity to bring and donate food items to one of several of Serve Sacramento's participating food banks. The night will conclude with fireworks! Plan to come out and to celebrate what God has done in our region the past few months through service!
Tickets for the event can be purchased here (Select: Serve Sacramento and enter code: SERVESAC). Group tickets can be purchased by contacting Alex Harbowy at (916)376-4869 oraharbowy@rivercats.com
Leaders
Leader Convergence is our newly formed team that is promoting leadership linkages all over Sacramento, as well as providing guidance to the Q Commons and Convergence Conversation events. The logo depicts seven circles in various progressions of completion. These seven circles represent the sectors of cultural influence in our city that shape our way of life. In linking leaders, we are doing the work of helping leaders find each other in each of these sectors, as well as convening and facilitating conversations among leaders from different sectors. To do this, we will host a third Q Commons Sacramento on Thursday night, September 24 and a Convergence Conversation gathering on Friday, October 9. Are you a leader? Mark your calendar now.

ACTS Group Endorsement
Jeremiah Aja President // Forge Sacramento
The ACTS Group is passionate about our region and its renewal. As a fellow ministry leader in the area, Forge Sacramento has been so fortunate to connect with them and fuel each other in making disciples, sparking Gospel movement, and bringing life to local churches and their leaders. The team at ACTS Group has been such an example of combing a Kingdom-minded focus with the intentionality of genuine change-makers in our area. I have been sharpened and inspired by the way ACTS creates local gatherings with a heart to bring pastors together, with an environment of innovation and hope for the days to come. God is up to so much in the Sacramento area and ACTS Group is a large part of that, while also calling others to see it with them.
