Crunch and Sip

As you would be aware, our school is a Crunch and Sip school. This means that we encourage our students to choose fruit and vegetables as a snack and water as a drink. At certain times of the morning, children are allowed to crunch and sip these healthy options during class time. We ask that parents continue to monitor what is being packed for crunch and sip and avoid packing junk food.

2014 ICAS Assessments

A note was sent home last week with students in Years 3-6, detailing the cost and dates for the ICAS competitions. These tests will be held in term 2. Students wishing to sit the tests will need to come to school at 8am on the day of the tests.

The closing date for entries into this competition is Friday 11 April. As the tests need to be pre-ordered, we cannot accept late entries.

Language Classes for Term 2

Both French and Italian language classes are on offer for students in Term 2.

French classes take place on Monday mornings from 8:00-8:45am. For more information and to enrol contact Delphine on 0420 242 974 or delphine.banse@lcfclubs.com.au

Italian classes take place on Tuesdays at lunch time. Contact Elizabeth on 0431 861 387 or elizabeth.cummings@lcfclub.com.au for more information and to enrol.

Easter Hat Parade

A reminder, our Easter Hat Parade will take place next Friday, 11 April at 2pm in the school hall. The children are invited to make their hat at home. Some older children may prefer to create a crazy hair style. This is always a fun afternoon so we hope many of our families are able to come and join in on the fun.

Band News

The Junior band performed for the first time together at this week's assembly. This was a fantastic achievement after rehearsing for only a few weeks. We look forward to seeing their progress over the year.

Pre School Bread Making Workshops with Brasserie Bread

Our friends at Brasserie Bread ran a bread making workshop today in our Pre School classes. Brasserie Bread have always been very generous and supportive of our school and we thank them for sharing their time, expertise and ingredients free of charge.

Do you want your own personal artisan sourdough baker at home? Then enrol your child in a school holiday or Saturday baking program; all of the details can be found below.

P & C News

Thank you to all of the parents who helped at the Kingsford Timber BBQ last weekend.

We are still looking for Easter egg and other Easter donations for the Easter hat parade raffle. Please return your raffle tickets and money to the office, so you have a chance of winning delicious Easter goodies!

Our fabulous Mothers Day stall will be held on Thursday 8 May please start sending in your gifts for the stall. This is a great fundraiser and a lot of fun for the kids who come and choose something special for their mum. To ensure that every child is able to select a present please donate as many presents as you have children at the school. We would appreciate it if you could wrap your gifts in clear cellophane.
