ALTON CHRONICLES

Unleash the SUPERHERO in You!

Message from Mr. Ogg

Happy Fall season to one an all, even though it does not feel like the Fall season outside. I hope that everyone has enjoyed these last few days. Before you know it, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families.

While the season brings about many wonderful feeling and memories, it can also be a hectic and stressful time of the year. Enjoying this time of the year can be more joyful when we focus on the positive things that happen around us. Our children face many challenges, but we know that a focus on the positive and maintaining a growth mindset can help make stressful times a little more comfortable.

Our remarkable superhero students are amazing individuals. They have done an exceptional job so far this year. It is our mission to not only help them to develop into extraordinary students but also help them to face challenges and not give up if things do not go their way.

Core Value - "Gratitude"

This month we will be talking about "Gratitude" - Letting others know you see how they've helped you. What a special month to be able to thank others for what they have done for us.

On Friday, November 10th we helped thank many veterans in our community with our Veterans Day program. There can never be enough thanks that we can give to the men and women who help keep this great country free. To the veterans that came, we hope that we made you feel special and grateful for your service.

School Pictures - Retakes

Our Fall Pictures Retakes will be Tuesday, December 5.

College Day

Don't forget that each Wednesday is College Day. We encourage our staff and students to wear their favorite college shirt. We want our students to see that: 1) school does not have to stop after high school and 2) that they each can, and have the ability, to go to college if they want to.

Thanksgiving Holiday

A reminder that our Thanksgiving Holiday will be Monday, November 20 to Friday, November 24.

The staff and I hope that each of you has a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving. There are many things that we can be thankful for. Out of all of them, we are grateful that we get the opportunity to work with your child each day at Alton. They are all superheroes in our eyes, and each parent should be proud of the hard work that their child demonstrates each day. Again, have a happy Thanksgiving, and we will see all of the students back at Alton on Monday, November 27.
