PLEASE HELP
Carver students have an amazing opportunity each day to spend 30 minutes in either an intervention or enrichment group called WIN (What I Need) time. These small groups allow students to either get interventions or have enrichment opportunities at the level that they are at. This has been a strong tradition here at Carver to help all students grow and achieve. We have an amazing intervention team that does this work along with classroom teachers. We are able to do this work out of Title 1 funds. We receive those funds through our families that fill out and qualify for educational benefits. Our ask is that if you have not filled out the form, please do so whether you believe you will qualify or not. The funding we receive is critical for our WIN time programming. Carver typically has 53%-56%. We are now at 39% which puts us in jeopardy of losing these extremely valuable funds. Please strongly consider filling out this form. If you need help or translation, call the school and we will get help- 651-702-8200. Click the live link below and go under “apply for meals today”.
Thank you!
Gena Abrahamson, Carver Principal
Be ready for the cold!
Cold weather policy
During the winter, we only keep students in for recess when the temperature drops below zero or if the wind chill is -10° or colder. Students also wait outside for drop off and pick up. Please make sure students are appropriately dressed for outside weather as it tends to change frequently in Minnesota. Make sure your student has:
- hat
- mittens/gloves,
- warm jacket
- snow pants
- winter boots
If you are in need of any winter gear, please reach out to us! Be sure to label your child’s name on all clothing. The lost and found is growing each day.
Feedback through Possip
Dear 622 Families,
Your voice matters! We need to hear what is working for you and what your family needs. We will begin to send routine text messages and emails with a few simple questions asking for feedback on your experience with school. You will receive these messages from Possip, an organization we are collaborating with to learn your needs. Your responses can remain anonymous.
Expect to begin receiving the messages on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
