Our goal is to learn something new every day! We are going to share our learning with you in a variety of ways! If you’d like to help- just be on the lookout for interesting & new facts about our current unit of study (The Past & the Present).

Weekly Learning

In reading, we will be focusing on using background knowledge to make connections to the books we are reading. This is an important strategy to help children comprehend what they are reading. (R.L.1.3,1.9)

In math, we are comparing numbers (greater than/less than), and writing addition and subtraction math story problems. (1.OA.A.2, B.4; 1.NBT.B.3)

In writing workshop each student is using the writing process to write his/her own personal narrative. (W.1.3, L1.1, 1.2)
