A Note from the Director
Let’s take a look at the week ahead! We are back to a normal rehearsal schedule this week with practice Monday 5 - 8 p.m., Tuesday 5 - 8 p.m. and Thursday 5 - 7 p.m.! Friday is Dripping Springs Football with a 7 a.m. rehearsal, and Saturday is BOA Waco!
BOA Waco is going to be an awesome contest! It is The Who’s Who of 5A Bands! We will get to compete against numerous 5A Bands that are advancing to the State Contest, and we get the opportunity to remind them who we are! Just because our area could only send three bands to the state contest doesn’t mean that we are not one of the top 5A bands in the state of Texas! Let’s have a great performance that is even better due to the work you put in this week! Never stop working hard and getting better every day!
Also this week we will continue our online fundraiser! Let’s make sure we push out the link on all social media accounts, texts and emails! Here is the link just in case anyone needs it! https://johnsonband21.groupfund.us/ Let’s reach our goal and more!!
We also have a few new upcoming items to start preparing for! With only two weeks of our competitive marching season left, we now start a stronger push towards the TMEA All-Region process! Registration for Region Band and Region Orchestra (Winds & Percussion) auditions is happening now! Make sure everyone who is interested is working on their audition music!
We will soon start looking at and selecting solos for UIL Solo & Ensemble in the early part of the spring semester. It is never too early to start preparing! If your student is taking private lessons, which all students should, the lesson teacher will help select a solo. Any band director will also be happy to help with that process as well!
In conclusion, we can not say enough how incredibly proud we are of our Jaguar Band, our students and everything they have done this year! Let’s keep this excitement and work ethic moving forward!!
As always it is a great day to be a Jaguar!
