HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
February 21, 2023 - Vol.2 Issue 25
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow begins the most sacred season of Lent. Our school will begin this penitential season by attending Ash Wednesday Mass at 9:30 AM and receiving blessed ashes on our foreheads. Please join us if your schedule permits. Throughout the school, we will be observing the three practices of Lent: prayer, fasting or sacrificing, and almsgiving. Our theme for this Lent is Lenten Adventure. Throughout the building we will be following in Jesus’ footsteps, especially his path to Calvary as depicted in the Stations of the Cross. For our Lenten service project, we will be supporting Nutritional Development Services by conducting a One-Can Meal Drive. Donations of one-can meals can be sent into school until Friday, March 31. Please see this newsletter for more information on our Lenten Service Project.
This week we will be sending home our annual Title One survey. This very important survey is anonymous and helps to determine the amount of Title One funding we receive. This funding helps support remedial reading and math services. Thank you in advance for completing and returning this survey.
Have you heard? Holy Family’s Got Talent! Our talent scouts are busy searching the classrooms and seeking out the best talent in the school! You won’t want to miss our second Holy Family’s Got Talent talent show, scheduled for Friday, April 28th at 7:30 PM at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Mark your calendar now! Audition information is included in this newsletter!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

Extracurriculars
I was involved in soccer and track & field.
Favorite Memory
My favorite memory at Holy Family is when Kiley and I did morning prayer and announcements and we kept messing up and laughing.
Advice to Holy Family Students
My advice would be to never doubt your teachers. They'll always have your back if something is wrong.
Adam Mois
Conwell-Egan Catholic High School
Extracurriculars
I wasn't involved in any big things except being Joseph in the Christmas Pageant.
Favorite Memory
Coming to the school was hard, but that was probably the best time.
Advice to Holy Family Students
Try stepping out of your comfort zone sometimes.
Lenten One-Can Meal Drive
Our SCHOOL GOAL is 400 cans! 2 cans per person will exceed our goal!
Many of the local food cupboards and soup kitchens have seen a swift increase in numbers of families with children who utilize their services. Please see attached document for examples of what we are collecting.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity to the many hungry people in our surrounding communities. As always, we appreciate all you and your family do to support your children, our school and Catholic education as well as those in our community.

Handbook Highlights
Please review the Family Handbook for reference on Morning Carline (pages 15-16):
IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS:
- For safety reasons and the efficient flow of traffic, parents/drivers must remain in their vehicles. We have staff members who will assist your children out of your vehicle.
- If your child has exited your vehicle but the vehicle in front of you still needs to be unloaded, please stay in line and DO NOT overtake the vehicle in front of you.
- Please DO NOT drop off your child(ren) at the front door when staff members are still available in front of the Parish Center for everyone's safety. If you do, your vehicle will be going against the traffic when you exit the parking lot.
- Please be extra cautious and attentive when exiting the parking lot.
- If dropping off for morning CARES, please park in the parking lot and walk your child to CARES. The fire lane should remain free and not used for parking.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
Financial Aid
A tax return (2021 or 2022) must be submitted with your application. Please note that FACTS charges a fee for processing and verifying applications.
Grants will be awarded in late Spring once we are notified of our available funding. Awards are based on factors such as the available funding, the number of applicants and the income eligibility of applicants.
